The Media Nanny Festival Passport – Lonneke de Boer

It’s time for our brand-new feature: The Media Nanny Festival Passport! Our nannies will share some of their best festival stories with you, like their craziest memory and dream festival lineup. Today, Senior PR Manager, Lonneke tells you all about her favorite festivals and more!

My name is: Lonneke Gwenny de Boer
My colleagues call me: Lonnie
The first ever festival I’ve been to is: Pinkpop
My favourite festival I’ve ever been to is: Lowlands
The festival that is on my bucket list is: Coachella
My favourite drink to have at a festival is: beer

All the festivals I’ve been to are: NOS Alive (Lisbon), Pinkpop, Lowlands, Amsterdam Open Air, Appelsap, Vrije Volk Festival, Concert @ Sea, and ADE.

My ultimate dream lineup is:
15:00 – 16:00: Justice
16:00 – 17:00: Mumford & Sons
17:00 – 18:00: MGMT
18:00 – 19:00: Drake
19:00 – 20:00: Goldband
20:00 – 21:00: David Guetta
21:00 – 22:00: Fritz Kalkbrenner
22:00 – 23:00: The Blessed Madonna
23:00 – 00:00 : Disclosure

The craziest memory I had during a festival was: at the last festival I visited before the first lockdown: Appelsap 2019. At the reunion performance of The Opposites (and after lots of Appelsap drinks), we had the time of our life because all the songs reminded us of our teenage memories. With hits like ‘Broodje warm vlees, broodje bapao’ and ‘Licht uit’, this performance was the perfect end to a hot summer festival day.

The typical festival moments I can tick off are:
Drank my first beer before 11am
Been in the centre of a mosh pit
Walked into the wrong tent
Got sunburned on day one
Had my phone die while filming the endshow
Lost my voice
Pulled a weekender with less than 5 hours of sleep
Lost my friends
Stepped out of my comfort zone
Photobombed someone else’s group photo
