Staff Selection | Lysanne Gerrits

Ready for another Staff Selection? This week our brand-new intern Lysanne Gerrits put together a cheerful playlist, looking back on some happy memories. Have a look at the stories behind the tunes below and listen here.

Macklemore feat. Skylar Grey – Glorious
This song brings me back to summer 2017 when I was at Sziget Festival in Budapest with all of my best friends. Macklemore performed this song on the main stage and we sang and danced the whole night. One of the most fun nights of my life!

Chris Brown feat. Aaliyah – Don’t Think They Know
What I love about this song is that they used Aaliyah’s original vocals, making it so special together with Chris Brown. It’s also worth listening to the original version of Aaliyah together with Digital Black.

Drake feat. Rihanna – Take Care
I never really was a Drake fan, until a friend of mine begged me to go with him to the Drake concert back in 2017. I almost didn’t know any of the songs he performed, but after the concert I added all of the songs to my playlist and this one is still one of my favorites.

Billie Eilish feat. Khalid – Lovely
Two of my favorite artists! Hard to choose one song from Billie as I love them all, but this one together with Khalid is really a favorite.

Khalid – American Teen Album
Love the whole album. Hard to choose, but ‘American Teen’, ‘Saved’ and ‘Angels’ are my favorites.

Stevie Wonder – Superstition
A classic one! This song just really gets me in a happy mood.

Maverick Sabre feat. Jorja Smith – Slow Down
I discovered this one through a friend of mine, who is also one of my roommates. It’s her current favorite song so she listens to it all the time and now it’s one of my favorites too. Really makes me want to dance!

Jorja Smith – Be Honest
One of my current favorites!

Marshall Jefferson feat. Solardo – Move Your Body
Since me and my roommates moved into our new apartment, we have listened to this song so many times. Makes me think of all the summer evenings in our garden drinking wine and playing games, such good memories.
