Nick Martin has been soundtracking your club experiences for two decades. Having DJed along superstars including The Chainsmokers, David Guetta, Alesso, Avicii, Axwell ^ Ingrosso and Hardwell, the Greek music-maker has spun his high-octane brand of beats in the finest clubs across the globe.
Music was in Nick’s blood from his teenage years, although, he was originally bit by the rock bug, playing drums in his high school band and covering songs from bands including The Rolling Stones, Green Day and Blink 182. Musically inclined, Nick started DJing school parties which lead to gigs in proper clubs. It was in the clubs that he first experienced house music. “Clubbing in Greece in 1996 to mid 2000s was huge – I think it was one of the top five places in the world to be clubbing and the DJ scene was buzzing. During the summers, I spent my time going to clubs in Greece and experiencing DJs like David Morales, Bob Sinclar, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren & Paul Oakenfold.” Influenced by so many top names, Nick became immersed in the club world and soon began headlining the same clubs his mentors performed at.
Emerging on the scene as a turntablist, Nick spent the early days of his career DJing on vinyl, lugging crates of white label promos before finally making the switch to USBs in 2011. Shortly after, Nick began producing music and released his first original work in 2013. In 2014 he got his first international DJ gig at Marquee Las Vegas, while in 2015, he released his first international hit “Red Lion” via Sander van Doorn’s acclaimed Doorn Records. Most recently, Martin teamed up with Australian producer Tigerlily on “Skyline” which has received support from artists such as Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Benny Benassi and Galantis.
2017 is the year the Nick Martin takes it up in gear. He recently signed with Armada Music – home to Armin van Buuren and many more of the world’s elite dance music talent – and the first output of this relationship is his newest single, “Shackles” feat. Natalola. On the touring front, Nick is supporting multiple Grammy-nominated superstar dance act The Chainsmokers on their European winter tour. “I’m focused on making good music, playing bigger cities and cool events, and getting on the Chainsmokers tour as an opener is not only exciting but the exposure is going to be great. 2017 is going be an amazing year!”
