Joshua J releases new single ‘Spare Me’ and video for ‘Loving You’

Joshua J continues to show his astounding versatility with effervescent new pop track ‘Spare Me’, out today and following in the footsteps of mellifluous predecessor, ‘Loving You’. The track follows a collection of stellar favourites including ‘Call Me’ and ‘No Reply’ as part of his ‘Better Times’ EP.

‘Spare Me’ begins deceptively, with little more than muted synth chords and Joshua’s beautiful voice. An ‘80s-flavoured beat drops in with funky bass licks and subtle electric guitar inflexions, with the cool and unlaboured chorus arriving like a gentle breeze on a beautiful sunny day. As always, his harmonies are on point, the production is resplendent, and he makes the journey through the track continually enrapturing with a sufficient amount of twists and turns. It couldn’t be more different to ‘Loving You’, and it shows that we’re dealing with an artist who is hugely capable no matter what style he turns his hand to.
Also released today is the gorgeous video for previous single ‘Loving You’, where Joshua J and his band accompany a touching love story through different locations and really bring the tender song to life.
Joshua J has been tipped for big things by the likes of Dr. Dre, who included him on his Beats Of The Week playlist, and press including Wonderland Magazine. With another killer single here and over 6 million Spotify plays to his name, it’s not long before the wider world sits up and takes notice.
