Eelke Kleijn is a rare talent. With work stretching across film scores, deep live shows and incredibly well formed production, he crosses a boundary from electronic producer and into a true modern day composer. With peers and taste-makers standing up for this unmistakable imagination, the Rotterdam based music maker’s potential has no bounds.
For his new single Shed My Skin, he sought inspiration from the past, reinterpreting the gorgeous vocal from the 2001 release of the same name.
We caught up with Eelke and spoke about his latest single, plus various other cool stuff like playing music on a star wars ship, travelling in time machine and what’s the best thing about EDM.

Considering originals that have been really popular, what do you feel a ‘rework’ brings to the table? Is it always a good thing?
What are the musical influences which led you to pursue electronic dance music?
According to you, what’s the best thing about EDM?
What filters do you consider before you decide to make a track or is it purely instinct?
Time for some fun ones.
If you were on a star wars ship? What kind of music would you play?
If you had a time machine, would you travel ahead or back? And why?
If your life was a movie, what songs would be on the soundtrack?
You can have one secret video / audio feed from anywhere in the world. Where do you put it?
