The event will see The San Francisco Mint transform into a tech-house music mecca as a minimal production is set to compliment the rawness of the open-air central patio housed in the venue. The return to San Francisco, a little over a year after GORDO first touched ground in the city with TARAKA, hosting a block party in the bay area, is poised to be historic.
GORDO, whose real name is Diamanté Blackmon, has proven to host some of the hottest parties around the world under the TARAKA brand, which has seen editions everywhere from San Francisco to Bulgaria, Amsterdam, Miami, Tulum, Detroit, New York, and Mykonos, and even expanded into a GORDO track release in late 2021. As one of the US’s biggest house music exports, GORDO is set to bring his inimitable tech house sound to hungry fans visiting The Mint as they attend the second edition of TARAKA San Francisco.
TARAKA is all about bringing back the underground rave feeling, so expect an extended set, some surprise guests, and sounds that will transport visitors to another dimension, while surrounded by the historic walls of The San Francisco Mint.
Built to serve a rapidly growing city, and a thriving regional economy, The San Francisco Mint is a community gathering place that’s rich with history. The open air landmark has been transformed to host some of the best events, raves, and DJs in the world. Over the years, the building miraculously withstood earthquakes and fires and, though the bass-rattling sounds of GORDO might give its structural integrity a run for its money.
