A regular on labels like Dim Mak and Mad Decent, Cesqeaux has also remixed DJ Snake, David Guetta & Afrojack and of course Martin Garrix feat. Khalid’s ‘Ocean’ alongside Garrix himself. He now lands on STMPD RCRDS with a mighty collaboration that is the first track from an upcoming EP he will release on the label later this year.
Cesqeaux met newcomers Ben & Fil in LA through their shared mentor. After a breakfast meet where they quickly established strong chemistry and shared musical passions, they headed to the studio and created two tracks in the process. ‘Losing Myself’ was one of the fruits of their collective labour, and they decided to send the track to Singapore-based talent Perk Pietrek. He loved the track and asked if he could help shape it further. After adding some of his own touches, he sent the track back to be completed by the LA trio.
Cesqeaux wrote and sung the vocals for the track, which proved to be the missing piece of the puzzle. His accomplished style on this rousing trap tune is impressive, with the lyrics reflecting the struggles he was going through around the time of writing. The emotive feel of the lyrics works perfectly with the bone-crunching production, thudding low end and futuristic feel, making for a bold contrast. Flitting effortlessly between mellow moments and intense crescendos, it’s a superb team effort that suggests his EP is going to be something truly special.
Cesqeaux, Ben & Fil and Perk Pietrek ‘Losing Myself’ is released on STMPD RCRDS on Friday April 12.
