The ANTS colony is poised for a very special Ushuaïa Ibiza event on Saturday 3rd August, as the party brand welcomes back BBC Radio 1 dance stage for a stage takeover. The landmark party is led by the station’s leading tastemaker Pete Tong andANTS regular Andrea Oliva.
Returning to the white isle for their 24th consecutive summer as part of their annual Ibiza extravaganza, BBC Radio 1 have enjoyed numerous events at Ushuaïa in years gone by, with the venue constantly outdoing itself when it comes to phenomenal productions. With incredible pyrotechnics, mind-blowing lighting, visuals and a state of the art soundsystem, it’s no surprise people flock from around the world for the inimitable Ushuaïa experience.
Over the past half decade, ANTS has carved a reputation as a brand that champions captivating, complex dance music. Welcoming BBC Radio 1’s dance stage back toUshuaïa Ibiza on Saturday 3rd August further cements this status.
Kicking off proceedings will be DJ and production duo Eli & Fur, closely followed by Chicago-born artist Secondcity and Maya Jane Coles – fresh from the release of her‘U&ME’ EP. Pete Tong and then Mancunion duo Solardo will then take the reins, beforeANTS poster-boy Andrea Oliva closes out what looks set to be one of the most in-demand events on the Ibiza calendar this summer.
Marking a huge change for their seventh anniversary, ANTS will see Ushuaïa Ibiza transformed into a fully fledged underground city with their brand new concept ‘ANTS Metropolis’. Having previously focused on the more natural and animal-side of the ANTS colony, this season’s immersive production will focus more on the ANTS colony as a society, hard at work in today’s modern world.
The ANTS concept has enjoyed a meteoric growth in stature since the inception of the brand in 2012, with various parties taking place all over the world, focusing on rugged minimalistic beats from some of the biggest names in electronic music. Taking the brand worldwide, ANTS have recently staged parties at Printworks in London, Miami Music Week and in Rotterdam as part of the city’s King’s Day celebrations.
